JASMINE HEARN

My work is rooted in the belief that I am a vessel for ancestry and spirt to speak through, and that I am also a keeper of tales and memories. This articulation of intention has been given language from past projects collaborating with independent choreographers, Marjani Forte-Saunders, Tara Aisha Willis, and Staycee Pearl.

I have been investigating how the body is able to use memory, sensation, and imagination as ways to enter embodied practices to articulate story, ancestry, and personal truth. With a background in BodyMindMovement, yoga, vocalization, and various dance techniques and styles, I am committed in the facilitation of an environment that gives space for folks to connect with their own fantasy and feeling.
